Oil spilt into the sea shows different characteristics
with the passage of time according to the oil types with the influence
of weather and sea conditions. To collect the spilt oil spillage
appropriately and effectively, it is important to select proper
methods of recovery that fit the characteristics of the oil that
change from hour to hour.
Petroleum Association of Japan has been implementing circulating
water channel experiments on the changes of properties of crude
oils and heavy fuel oil with time since 1993.
Until 2000, we collected the data on the changes of 42 types
of crude oil,2 types of fuel oil C and 1 type of fuel oil A. Now
we publish all the data including photographs on the changes with
time that we gained until 2000.
